Rolls Royce is working on a cargo ship that won’t need anymore crew on board. This futuristic concept ship can be totally controlled from land. Of course this will cost a lot of jobs, which is a pity. But what are the good things? The only member needed to guide this ship is a captain at land. He will use holograms to control and guide the ship. In this way, he doesn’t have to be on board anymore, weeks away from home. So he can proceed his profession, but can be at home with his kids at night which will improve his quality of life. Besides that, being at the ocean for a couple of weeks can be a very risky job. It happened more than once that a ship gets lost at sea. Watch the video on the left side of this page. It may seem a little futuristic, but the future is closer than we think.
Rolls Royce, the brand you probably know from the cars, is working on more than just cars. They are constantly innovating in different kinds of transport vehicles. Rolls Royce has now revealed their plans for 2020 and it is stunning.
We have seen a lot of innovation in transporting the last couple of years: e-bikes, self-parking cars, incredibly fast trains and Segway’s. Now we are going a little further with this new concept of Rolls Royce. Like every new idea and concept it has benefits and cons. Unfortunately we have to wait until 2020.
